Epicura Skin Cites Historical Facts About Hyaluronic Acid In Quench Anti-Aging Serum

(LosAngeles.CityRegions.Com, October 24, 2013 ) Los Angeles, California -- Mia Townes, Spokesperson of Epicura Skin, discussed the facts about Hyaluronic Acid, the major component of their breakthrough product Quench Hyaluronic Acid Serum. She began telling with a history of the chemical composition of this form of acid and its uses for an effective dermal filler and wrinkle reducer. The revelation of the facts happened October 20, 2013 at their laboratory in Los Angeles, California.

According to the Journal of Clinical Interventions for Aging in the United States, a top ranked non-invasive procedure for reduction of wrinkles is the injection of botulinum toxin (Botox). Furthermore, the fifth most common procedure is the injection of hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers. Hyaluronic acid is widely used in many forms by cosmetic companies worldwide.

As discussed further by Mia Townes, HA was discovered in 1934 by Karl Meyer and his assistant John Palmer. They discovered it in the vitreous of bovine eyes. It is found in most connective tissues and has been reckoned abundant in the synovial fluid of joints, vitreous fluid of the eyes and the skin layers.

They discovered that HA contains two sugar molecules and one is uronic acid. The term hyaluronic acid came from the word "hyalos" which means glass. The first medical use of HA was in the 1950s where it was used for vitreous replacement in humans.

HA contains uronic acid and amino sugar that are related to glucose. It is also a stable substance suitable for beauty products as it is naturally synthesized in the body. One of its main roles is to prevent degeneration and dryness of the skin surface.

Another biological uses of HA in the body includes binding water and lubricating movable joints in the body and the skin's dermal layers.

"Indeed, HA is an amazing discovery because it has many uses for body vital parts such as skin, joints and eyes. It can hold up to 1000 molecules of water making it a very good hydration skin agent," explained Mia Townes.

Quench Hyaluronic Acid Serum is widely known for its ability to reduce wrinkles and fine lines. It is now available online via Amazon with a discounted price.
