(LosAngeles.CityRegions.Com, June 20, 2016 ) Los Angeles, California -- AFPCYCLING, provider of high quality tire pump and biking accessories in the market today lists down the things to check when buying second hand bikes. The company wants to help educate new riders about how they can find used bike in good condition and performs well.
According to an AFPCYCLING representative, before buying a bike, cyclists must choose first the type of bicycle they want to ride. They must find a bike that will suit their needs. After that, cyclists must check the following things:
1. Size- It is important to choose the right size of bike to avoid discomfort that may cause an injury later on. Buying the wrong size of bike will also affect the cyclists' riding performance and enjoyments. 2. Frame-Cyclists must check the frame for any damages such as dents and scratches. Although these things can be fixed easily, buying bikes with cracked frame is a bad choose. Also, avoid bikes with parts that have rusted through. 3. Wheels and Tyres- Cyclist must make sure that the wheels don't have a missing spoke and isn't buckled up. The tires must be intact, the rubber and tread isn't perished and don't have a hole. 4. Brakes-It is important to make sure that the brakes are working properly. The brake cable must be clean not rusty and both the front and back brakes are working smoothly. 5. Gears- Make sure that both the top and bottom gears are working smoothly and quietly. 6. Loose parts- When buying a second-hand bike, it is very important to make sure that there are no loose parts. Give the bike a shake to see any loose parts and hidden problems.
Buying a second hand bike can save a lot of money but cyclists must make sure also that it is on good condition and will work properly. There are parts that can be changed or upgraded but if the bike has some serious problem then it will cost more money and not a good investment.
