(LosAngeles.CityRegions.Com, June 13, 2016 ) Los Angeles, California -- AFPCYCLING is a company that specializes in biking products and accessories. Their latest product is a portable bike pump that provides easy solution to unexpected flats on the road. But aside from offering high quality biking products, the company also teaches new riders about the other aspect of bicycling. Today the company gives tips on how to find the cause of flat tire.
According to AFPCYCLING representative, to properly inflate a flat tire, it is important to look for the cause of the flat first. Flats may be caused by sharp objects that got embedded on the tube and tire and leaves a hole. Old and new tires can be damaged by these sharp objects. When searching for the cause of a flat, follow the following tips:
1. Search for the cause of the flat on the outside of the tire. Check the surface for any signs of damage that is caused by sharp and foreign objects that got lodged in the tread of the tire and cuts, worn or crack the sidewall or tread patterns.
2. After checking the outside part of the tire, check both the inner and inside surface of the tire for any holes or damage. However, take note that these damages can be difficult to spot. Punctures and holes can't be easily found. To solve this problem, try inflating the tube and observe where the air escapes. For small punctures, pass the tube close to the eye and feel for escaping air. Also, tubes can be submerged in the water then look where bubbles came from.
3. If there is no damage on the tube and tread, the damage can be on the valve. Check the valve stem for any leakage. Valves can be damaged due to cuts, cracks or worn out due to constant use.
These are simple tips to find the cause of the flat tire. Once the damage is found, follow the proper way of inflating tires.
